The Westside School was founded for the purpose of bringing inclusive educational options to the families of Southwest Atlanta. Young children regardless of ability and background deserve supportive and stimulating environments to learn. Inclusivity teaches all children to value diversity while broadening their worldview and strengthening social skills.
The Westside school has seven classes with students ages 6 weeks through 5 years of age. Students progress to the next class based on skill acquisition not age, allowing children to meet milestones on their timeline.
The Westside school uses Georgia Early Learning and Developmental Standards (GELDS) to guide activity planning. We use a student-centered approach to education adopted from Montessori methods. Educators guide students through the process of exploring knowledge while allowing them to make choices.
